31 Random Facts About Me #23

Random Fact #23: I love writing Poetry. Here is my most resent one, finished a few days ago. Feel free to give me any and all feedback you have 🙂 Oh and if you have any ideas on a good name for it, please let me know, cuz I still have yet to name this one, and honestly I’m stuck. FYI I wrote the first few lines a few months ago, so they are not that accurate.

One year and 47 days,

exactly,

Going on Forever,

it seems,

The long times seem longer,

and the short times shorter,

Still it could have been last night,

Now we’re older,

goofy-er,

and taller,

You’ve moved on with life,

I seem to be stuck in a time bubble,

Stuck in something that ended,

Five months ago,

We still talk,

About life,

as it goes by,

today,

everyday,

But my brain is still stuck in the past,

I tell myself it’s time to let go,

But moving on seems impossible,

I still hear you talking,

over the phone,

at 2 am,

that voice that makes me feel like everything will always gonna be alright,

It replays in my head,

everything that ever happened,

I wish I could make you come back,

I would do anything,

But you’re just beyond reach,

Just out of sight

Crazy – Free Verse Poem

Love, an Addiction, that is just that, addicitve

Lying right here every night,

Wishing I could sleep for once,

I close my eyes and see your smile,

Like you’re there in front of me,

Why is my memory so good?

For once I wish it weren’t,

Because every time I stop to think,

I remember something else about you,

Why am I obsessed with you?

Do you think of me this much?

I’m not just saying this,

I can really picture your face,

All the time,

Your smile when we’re texting,

It’s crazy,

I’m crazy,

I know that much,

Oh it’s nothing,

Just me,

Yup,

That must be it,

I’m not surprised,

I’m just crazy,

About you   ❤

I Love The Way You Hold Me

The Way You Hold Me,

You lift me off the ground,

You swing me around,

But when you put me down,

I feel like I’m still flying,

In your arms,

I close my eyes and I’m still In your arms,

We’re still spinning around,

My feet still miles from the ground,

No matter what’s going on around us,

You make me fly,

Because I love the way you hold me,

You always turn my day right side up,

When it’s flipped around,

When you’re no longer holding me,

I just close my eyes,

And hit rewind,

To put my day back together,

Because you hold my heart,

In your arms.

I wrote this poem today, and I’m at least a little bit excited about it =) I want to just explain where the inspiration for this one came from. I have been listening to the below song, a lot, like it’s one of those songs I heard on the radio, fell in love with it, and just have been listening to over and over and over, because I just really love it! =) It’s called “Hold Me” by Jamie Grace. I just love the concept, of someone, anybody that you love just coming up and hugging you, making you feel better, and just letting you know it’s gonna be alright. That whole concept just really struck me, and I just knew that there was going to be a poem coming out of it. So earlier as I was listening to it (For like the ten thousandth time!), I was sitting here at the dinning room table, with a blank notebook in front of me, just singing along and thinking about who this song reminds me of, and just thinking. Then all of a sudden, the words just started flowing. At first all I had was the first line down, and then next I knew, had a full poem sitting in front of me! And it all totally fit together! =P I’m pretty proud of it =)

This is one of those poems that is more like a vignette into my thoughts and feelings, than my life. I don’t really know how to explain it. =) It’s one of those poems =P

I hope y’all really enjoy it =) Oh and I also incorporated another song I’ve been listening to over and over to called “Rewind” by Rascal Flatts, Look it up, it’s an awesome song. Really love that song too! =)

Not Enough Poetry – A.K.A. – Your Beautiful Gift

Not Enough Poetry

A.K.A. Your Beautiful Gift

You have a huge secret,

Though very few know it,

When you are alone,

 You are an amazing poet,

This poetry keeps you company,

It words, thoughts, and phrases,

All keep you calm, inside,

While the world’s storm rages,

Yet through the wind there is a voice,

And it calls to you “not enough poetry”,

The voice continues “not enough poetry”,

And finally you see,

Not enough poetry,

It haunts you like a dream,

Pours through your soul like a stream,

Day after day,

Night by night,

And you still can’t get the words from your brain,

 To the paper,

One day it finally all comes pouring out,

The words hit the paper,

And start to dance on the page,

Like a ballerina on a stage,

When it all comes together,

It’s a beautiful poem,

As light and beautiful as a feather,

This gift that you have,

No one can contain,

It’s as free as a bird,

Of the African plain,

It blossoms and grows,

Like nobody knows,

But it’s your gift,

And it really shows,

Take hold of your gift,

Don’t let it die,

But let it bloom,

Spread wings and fly,

Share it with the world,

And every passerby,

For nobody knows the call of poetry,

Not enough poetry,

Like you do.
